Hydraulic Consultants Association of Australasia
The HCAA aims to provide a higher profile and focus for Hydraulic Services Engineers and Designers throughout the regions of Australasia.
We are a member-based Association for those who are suitably qualified and experienced in Hydraulic Services Design, facilitating the exchange of ideas, experiences and solutions and we strive to resolve any problems affecting the profession and practice of Hydraulic Services.
Why a HCAA Consultant?
Hydraulic Services Consultants work closely with Architects, Builders, Councils, Authorities, Developers and other engineering disciplines to ensure liquids go where they need to in the built environment.
Specifically, our members are engaged in the design, specification and inspection of hydraulic and fire protection systems such as hot and cold water, plumbing, sanitary and trade waste drainage, stormwater drainage, fire services and gas services.
HCAA Consultants are held to a high standard to meet a membership criteria that combines experience, knowledge and qualifications, ensuring the best of the best.
Our Members:
Are required to maintain their education through a Continued Professional Development program ensuring they are up to date on current design processes, products and technologies
Are able to contribute to the science and practice of the industry with a variety of knowledge and skills.
Provide Hydraulic Services in a professional and ethical way in accordance with the HCAA Code of Ethics and Code or Professional Practice.

You can apply for HCAA Student Membership if you’re currently enrolled in the Diploma of Hydraulic Services course or equivalent.

The annual cost is FREE
You can apply for HCAA Student Membership if you’re currently enrolled in the Diploma of Hydraulic Services course or equivalent.
Student membership will be withdrawn upon completion of the course, however a student member may upgrade to HCAA Associate or HCAA Full membership after the qualifying period is complete.
During the application process for Student Membership, you will be asked for evidence to document the above criteria, including: a copy of your diploma enrolment form or letter of confirmation from your course leader.
HCAA Full Membership
You can apply for Full Membership if you are a working as a Hydraulic Services Designer, have 6+ years experience in your field and hold a Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design.

You can apply for Full Membership if you are a working as a Hydraulic Services Designer and meet the below criteria:
During the application process for Full Membership, you will be asked for evidence to document the above, including: a copy of your resume, a letter from your current employer, a certified copy of your diploma, two referees who are also HCAA members.
HCAA Associate Membership
You can apply for Associate Membership if you are working in a recognised hydraulic services consultant’s office as a hydraulic services designer, design drafter or supervisor in the consulting engineering profession.

You can apply for Associate Membership if you are working in a recognised hydraulic services consultant’s office as a hydraulic services designer, design drafter or supervisor in the consulting engineering profession.
During the application process for Associate Membership, you will be asked for evidence to document the above criteria, including: a copy of your resume, a letter from your current employer, two referees who are also HCAA members.
HCAA Allied Membership
You can apply for HCAA Allied Membership if you’re working in a recognised Hydraulic Services Consultant’s office as a hydraulic services designer, design drafter or supervisor in the consulting engineering profession and are based outside of our meeting areas.

The annual cost is $110 (plus GST)
You can apply for HCAA Allied Membership if you’re working in a recognised Hydraulic Services Consultant’s office as a hydraulic services designer, design drafter or supervisor in the consulting engineering profession and are based outside of our meeting areas.
An Allied member cannot sit within an area that holds regular meetings and should only apply if they live more than 150km from an area that holds regular meetings.
During the application process for Allied Membership, you will be asked for evidence to document the above criteria, including: a copy of your resume, a letter from your current employer, two referees who are also HCAA members and evidence that you live 150km from an area that holds HCAA General Meetings.
HCAA Industry Partner (individual)
Membership
You can apply for HCAA Industry Partner (Individual) Membership if you’re working in the construction industry in another profession with an interest in Hydraulic & Fire Protection systems, as a consultant or a contractor.

(Individual) membership
The annual cost is $330 (plus GST)
You can apply for HCAA Industry Partner (Individual) Membership if you’re working in the construction industry in another profession with an interest in Hydraulic & Fire Protection systems, as a consultant (for example Architects, Building Services) or a contractor (for example Plumbers, Hydraulic Installers, Builders).
Industry members exclude fire and hydraulic engineers, manufacturers and suppliers. Industry Partner (Individual) membership is open to individuals only.
During the application process for Industry Partner (Individual) Membership, you will be asked for evidence to document the above criteria, including: a copy of your resume, a letter from your current employer, two referees who are also HCAA members.
HCAA Affiliate Membership
You can apply for HCAA Associate Membership if you are manufacturers or suppliers of plumbing or allied products who’s principles have no financial interest in a plumbing contracting firm.

You can apply for HCAA Associate Membership if you are manufacturers or suppliers of plumbing or allied products who’s principles have no financial interest in a plumbing contracting firm.
During the application process for Affiliate Membership, you will be asked for evidence to document the above criteria, including your company URL and company mission and values.
Affiliate membership of the HCAA offers an array of benefits, with the strongest being the opportunity to network with, collaborate with and build relationships with our consultant and individual members.
HCAA Corporate Membership
You can apply for HCAA Corporate Membership if your company has a Director or Principal who is a Full, Life or Fellow member of the Association.

You can apply for HCAA Corporate Membership if your company has a Director or Principal who is a Full, Life or Fellow member of the Association.
The company is eligible to use the Association’s logo on all drawing title blocks, will be displayed in the Company Directory on the HCAA website and is entitled to other rights and privileges as determined by the Committee.
During the application process for Corporate Membership, you will be asked for evidence to document the above criteria, including your company URL and names of Director or equivalent who are current HCAA members.

You can apply for HCAA Industry Partner (Company) Membership if you are an organisation that is working in the construction industry in another profession with an interest in Hydraulic & Fire Protection systems, as a consultancy or contractors.
