Notice is hereby given to all Members of the HCAA that our Canberra July General Meeting will be held on Thursday 27 July 2023 at the Canberra Rex Hotel, Canberra.

Topic: Identifying Backflow Hazards
Identifying the level of a backflow hazard is one of the most contentious areas for equipment manufacturers, designers and installers of plumbing systems. NCC 2022 in Specification 41 sets out an extensive list of cross-connection hazards and corresponding hazard ratings, but what if an installation is not listed?
The NCC now includes a hazard risk assessment tool aimed at introducing consistency when identifying what level of zone or individual backflow hazard exists and Peter McLennan will be joining us to run through all aspects of the tool and provide you with an example of how it can be used.

Plastec will be interpreting how plumbing and drainage installation in reactive and unstable soil relates to Appendix G and AS2870.
